Edson Jeune, the oldest of three boys, was born in Haiti. At the age of 22, during his last year studying economics at the University of Massachusetts, Edson discovered a love for ballroom dancing and was soon competing in the collegiate ballroom arena. After graduation, he continued training and competing as an amateur in the International Latin and American Rhythm styles.

As Edson’s love for the art of dance grew stronger, he decided to pursue ballroom dancing as a career. As an amateur, he competed across the country, and also performed with the RLJ Dance Formation team at many prestigious locations.

In the fall of 2009, Edson decided to compete professionally. He left his home town of Boston, and moved to New York to study the American Rhythm Style under the supervision of World Champions Jose Decamps and Joanna Zacharewicz. He has now returned to Boston to pursue his career as a professional competitor with Beth Canuel, and to work as an instructor at Avalon Ballroom Dance.

Edson is qualified to teach American Rhythm and Smooth, as well as International Latin. He is a member of the National Dance Council of America. His extensive knowledge of the dances, along with his deep affection for the art, make him a strong instructor who relishes the opportunity to teach others the joy of dance.
